The rise of smart devices such as lightbulbs, power outlets, doorbells, and more has given way to a network of interconnectivity called the Internet of Things (IoT). Using this same concept, Link Labs has developed a line of ‘smart tags’ for real-time tracking and monitoring of assets over a personalized secure network.

Link Labs approached me because they felt that their brand had potential, but appeared too playful for their industry. After a few rounds of interviews and sketches, it was decided that the brand simply needed a touch of modernity and a coat of professionalism. This led to an updated icon, a new typography system, and a digital-first approach.
